Let the Riser be your new secret weapon in building up your forearms!

Looking to gain some serious mass in your forearms? Say no more! This tool is a great way to strengthen the ulnar and radial deviation of the wrist. What's that you ask? If you put your hand out in front of you with your thumbs up, ulnar deviation is when you flex your wrist downwards, whereas radial deviation is when you flex your wrist upwards.

Especially if you're an armwrestler, this tool is absolute gold. It's an amazing way to train the 'rising' portion of your wrist, mostly used in the top roll. But even if you're not an armwrestler, this tool is a great way to take your forearms to the next level.

Most gym guys NEVER train the ulnar and radial deviation of the wrist, and usually have a big weakness in this area. So get ready for some newbie gains all over again, because your forearms are about to blow up in size!

Simply attach the Riser with the carabiner (included) to a cable station, loading pin or elastic band and prepare yourself for a ridiculous pump. The way it works is that the chain is actively putting the resistance on your wrists. If you curl up, the chain will try to pull your wrists downwards. This will fire up your forearm muscles in a unique way, because you now have to flex your wrist upwards. You'll feel it especially at the top, when you can squeeze them extra hard for a solid lock-out.

Another great way to use the device is for tricep extensions. Because of the chain, it allows you to finish of your rep with an extra hard lock-out. It will put your triceps on fire like they never have been before!

Strongman legend Travis Ortmayer explains the hype about ´the Riser´

Don't just take our word for it. Tons of elite athletes from various different sports are using the Riser to level-up.

Listen to what Travis Ortmayer, a legend in the world of strongman, has to say about it!

To quote Travis:

“That´s a killer for the forearms, and it hits my triceps in a way that I´ve never felt before.”

Your new competitive edge

If you do any sport involving a lot of wrist strength, like armwrestling, MMA, BJJ, etc. then having strong wrists will be of huge advantage to you. I don't think we need to explain anymore how important wrist strength is to armwrestlers (very important), but even for fighting sports like BJJ, MMA, and wrestling this is a very underrated aspect.

If you want to grab a hold of your opponent and pull him towards one side, a lot of strength needs to come from you wrist. If your wrists are much stronger than your opponents, you will have a great competitive edge here!

The perfect way to spice up your curls and extensions

How & why it works

The Riser will give you a unique stimulus, but some people may still be confused on what actually makes it special. This requires some understanding of exercise science. You see, with a regular dumbell/barbbell the resistance is only going one way: straight down. With the Riser, there are multiple lines of resistance thanks to the chain.

Because the chain wraps around the circle, it actively tries to open up your wrist. To fight this from happening, you have to isometrically contract the muscles to stabilize the wrist. On top of that, you can also add in little movements to work the wrist up and down through its whole range of motion.

During a hammer curl motion, this means that two things are happening. First, the resistance is pulling down on your arm, which will train the biceps and forearm. Second, the chain tries to pull your wrist down, which causes your forearm to work overtime to stabilize the wrist. It also allows you to finish the movement with an extra strong contraction, since you fully flex your wrist upwards against the resistance of the chain to end your rep, known as radial deviation.

If we look at a tricep extension, the same thing is happening, just the opposite way. The chain tries to open the wrist upwards, which means your forearm has to stabilize the wrist downwards. Here it also allows you for an extra strong tricep contraction at the end of the rep, since you can flex your wrist backwards against the resistance. Don't believe it? Try it out: flex your tricep as hard as possible, and then additionally also try to drive the pinky-side of your wrist towards your elbow. You'll notice that this makes the tricep contraction even greater. This movement is known as ulnar deviation.

How the riser will help you

Grow your arms!

Want big arms? Let's add some meat to those forearms! Most people NEVER train their wrist rotation, which means that they leave easy gains on the table. Evening adding in 3 sets a week will make your arms enter a new phase of newbie gains.

'Bulletproof' your hands, wrists and elbows

Most people get tendonitis or other types of pain due to a weak link around a joint. By training our wrists and hands in all of its function we´re making our hands, wrists, and elbows ´bulletproof´ against injury.

Get better at your sport

Having strong wrists through all of it's ranges of motion can be of huge advantage in many sports, including armwrestling, strongman, MMA, wrestling, etc. Especially because few people train it, this can become a new competitive edge over your competitors.

Never lose an armwrestling match again

If you're already doing armwrestling as a sport, we don't need to explain to you that your 'Riser' is VERY IMPORTANT. If you only do armwrestling with your friends at the bar, this may be good info for you.

In armwrestling, one of the main goals is to control the hand of the opponent. By being able to rise your hand (as if you want to pull your thumb to your face), you will open up the fingers of your opponent and get into a stronger position. Basically, if you have much stronger riser than your opponent it's almost a done deal already.

Just a few sets with the Riser at the end of your workout can already make a big impact. Your friends won't understand how you suddenly got so strong, but you'll know the secret ;).

the secret to ´bulletproof´ elbows

It seems like there is an epidemic of elbow tendonitis, tennis elbow and golfers elbow these days. Many times, the reason is simple: there are muscular weaknesses and imbalances around the elbow joint that cause unnecessary friction on the tendons, resulting in pain.

If we look at the case of the forearm muscles, we see that they are 6 main functions: flexion, extension, pronation, supination, radial deviation and ulnar deviation. Wrist flexion is common, wrist extension is already quite rare. However, most people NEVER train the other 4 functions.

This usually results in some form of imbalance and lack of mobility. Instead, we want to get a joint to be strong in every angle and through every range of motion.
